Timemore Small U French Press
☕Why did Timemore make a French press?
The French press has always been known as the simplest coffee maker,
often considered an amateur coffee brewing device,
and even looking at it, it somehow doesn't feel like it's for serious coffee making.
But in fact, if used well, the French press can produce a very classic taste.
Timemore wanted to create a more refined, more professional French press,
retaining the advantages of the French press, but making it more suitable for brewing coffee.
Whether it's the precision of the press, the accuracy of the filtration, or the visual texture,
Timemore has made significant design improvements.
Of course, it can also be used with circular filter paper to enhance filtration and achieve a purer coffee.
It remains the simplest and most affordable entry-level coffee choice.

✅Recommended Brewing Method
8-Minute Brewing Method☕
(Although most brewing methods suggest a waiting time of 4-5 minutes,
we found that using extremely coarse grounds with a longer steeping time
produces a more balanced and refined coffee. If you have enough time, give it a try 👍)
1. Pour water into a kettle and heat until boiling.
2. Grind 28.5g of coffee to an extremely coarse grind, pour into the French press, and gently shake the pot to level the coffee grounds. Place the pot on a scale and tare it to zero.
3. Once the water starts boiling, remove the kettle. Start an 8-minute countdown. Quickly but gently pour water into the French press until the scale reads 400g, then stop.
4. When the timer has 30-45 seconds remaining, stir the water briefly with a spoon to allow most of the coffee grounds to settle (a layer of fine coffee residue will still float on the surface). Place the plunger on the pot, but do not press down yet.
5. When the timer goes off, slowly and gently press the plunger down. (*Please be careful with this step;
do not press the plunger down too hard, causing unnecessary agitation,
which might release bitter flavors still in the coffee grounds and ruin a balanced cup of coffee.)
6. Drink immediately, or pour into another coffee pot. You can also pre-warm the coffee pot with hot water. Enjoy a pure and wonderful cup of freshly brewed coffee!
5-Minute Brewing Method☕
(If brewing time is less than 4 minutes or shorter, it's usually difficult to achieve a balanced cup of coffee, so a minimum of 5 minutes is recommended)
1. Pour water into a kettle and heat until boiling.
2. Grind 25g of coffee to a coarse grind, pour into the French press, and gently shake the pot to level the coffee grounds. Place the pot on a scale and tare it to zero.
3. Once the water starts boiling, remove the kettle. Start a 5-minute countdown. Quickly but gently pour water into the French press until the scale reads 400g, then stop.
4. When the timer has 60 seconds remaining, stir in a circular motion about 10 times with a spoon to allow most of the coffee grounds to settle (a layer of fine coffee residue will still float on the surface). Place the plunger on the pot, but do not press down yet.
5. Same as above
✅Other Considerations
1. Pour coffee evenly:
One of the best things about using a French press is how quickly and easily you can brew coffee for many people.
Although most coffee grounds settle at the bottom, there will still be some sediment in the brewed coffee.
If you pour coffee for many people at once, the first cup will have the least grounds, and the last cup will have a lot of grounds,
which may not taste good. To avoid this, you can pour a little at a time into each cup, distributing evenly.
2. Cleaning Tips:
After use, it is recommended to disassemble and rinse the French press to prevent foreign matter from accumulating in the joints.
It is also recommended to gently brush the filter with a soft brush to prevent coffee oils from lingering and becoming grime.
